Hokies conclude home stand with Boston College

BLACKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Tech women’s soccer team will host ACC foe Boston College on Friday night, Sept. 29 to conclude a brief two-game home stand. Kick-off at Thompson Field is at 7 p.m. and admission is free.

Tech enter the contest 6-3-2 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play. Last time out, the Hokies fell to No. 23 Florida State, 2-0, at Thompson Field on Sunday afternoon.

Boston College enters the match 8-4 overall and 2-1 in ACC action. The Eagles are coming off a 1-0 home win over Wake Forest on Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday, Mandy McGlynn recorded a career-high eight saves. She now has 101 on her career, in just 27 matches. She is 10th in career saves at Virginia Tech and third in career goals against average. She is climbing most of the major goalkeeping lists at Tech. Alani Johnson leads the Hokies in goals with four and Allyson Brown has added three goals in her freshman season at Tech. The Eagles are led by Laura Berman with five goals.

As part of the festivities, Virginia Tech is holding its Reunion Weekend. Former players from throughout the program’s history will be in attendance and honored at the match.

Also, Friday’s match will be Super Hero Night. A photo booth and super hero props will be available. Virginia Tech athletics will also have a sign making station, where fans can make signs for ESPN College GameDay on Saturday.
