Matt Transue is in his second year on the Virginia Tech football staff, serving as the assistant director of player personnel and recruiting.  Transue is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Hokies’ recruiting department. This includes managing databases, overseeing student workers and volunteers, taking care of administrative duties, assisting with content for the program’s social media channels, and other general duties as assigned.

He also serves as the team’s pro liaison to the NFL. Transue worked with Fuente and many members of his staff as a recruiting volunteer at the University of Memphis during the 2015 season.

While in Memphis, he also worked as an account executive in the ticket office of the Memphis Redbirds, the Triple-A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. The Brentwood, Calif., native, is a graduate of the University of Tennessee, with an undergraduate degree and a master’s degree in recreation and sport management. While at Tennessee, he served as a student assistant, and later a graduate assistant, in the football recruiting/operations area from 2011-15.
