Responsibilities: Sours provides the design for Inside HokieSports magazine and Recruiting Websites for various sports. He also designs micro-sites including the VT Monogram Club website. Printed publications produced include items such as the Hokie Club 2017 Donor Guide, and event programs for Football and Women's Basketball. He utilizes his illustration skills to create items, such as the logo for the HokieBirdie Golf Classic.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2013

Prior to Virginia Tech: Sours has worked as a graphic designer for more than 20 years. Duties have ranged from painting planetarium panoramas for The Science Museum of Western Virginia to creating and testing large commercial websites. Working for a commercial printer, Sours garnered extensive knowledge of the printing process. At WPI, in the Corporate Research Center, he designed products for clients, including the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency. Upon WPI's closing in 2006, Sours ran his own full-time graphic design business for five years. Just prior to joining Virginia Tech athletics communications, he worked as a graphic/web designer at the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM).

Education: University of South Florida, 1979 (B.A. in art)

Personal: A native of Roanoke, Va., Sours and his wife, MaryAnne, moved to Montgomery County in 1987 and currently reside in Christiansburg. Their daughter, Nomeka, a graduate of Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business, resides in Richmond, Va. Their son, Billy, a Graphic Design graduate of Radford University, resides in Christiansburg.
