Responsibilities: Mayotte serves as the director of Student-Athlete Academic Support Services (SAASS), where he oversees an office comprised of two associate directors, four assistant directors, two learning specialists, an intern and a secretary. This group of professionals services the academic needs of all student-athletes.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2014

Prior to Virginia Tech: Before he arrived in Blacksburg, Mayotte served as the director of student-athlete services at Troy University in Troy, Alabama, where he took over the director role in 2006 after serving as a staff assistant in SAS.

Education: Troy University, 2005 (B.S. in sport and fitness management); Troy University, 2006 (master’s in athletics administration).

Personal: A native of Plainville, Connecticut, Mayotte and his wife, Jennifer, currently reside in Blacksburg. The couple has a daughter, Kate. In his spare time, Mayotte enjoys spending time with his family, sports, music, and outdoor recreation.
