Angie Littlejohn enters her first season as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Internal Operations at Virginia Tech.

Littlejohn plays a key role in the Hokies’ Athletic Department serving in various capacities including: Virginia Tech’s liaison to the ACC related to the ACC Channel and its 2019 launch, oversight of all aspects of Tech’s NCAA Compliance division, NCAA Governance and Autonomy proposals and legislation, sports camps and clinics, Title IX compliance, as well as drafting coaching and departmental contracts in conjunction with Tech’s office of the General Counsel. Additionally, Littlejohn also coordinates with Virginia Tech’s licensing and trademark unit to promote the brand of Virginia Tech. She works closely with the Office of Financial Aid, the Bursar’s Office and the Registrar’s office related to student-athlete eligibility and scholarships. Her duties are also anticipated to include future sport oversight as designated by the Athletic Director.

The 33-year-old Littlejohn joined Virginia Tech as the youngest female senior associate athletic director in the ACC. Before coming to Blacksburg, she served as General Counsel and Executive Associate Athletics Director at Furman University since December 2015, where in addition to her duties as General Counsel, she oversaw the two-time Southern Conference Champion women’s tennis team, as well as men’s tennis, athletic and personnel contracts, and served on the athletics senior leadership team. She originally began working as one of the youngest general counsels in NCAA Division I at Furman in July 2011 as the Legal Advisor to the University, and she remained active in teaching sports law and coaching the nationally recognized Furman mock trial teams. Littlejohn earned her Juris Doctor from Washington and Lee University School of Law in May 2009.

Prior to her tenure at Furman, Littlejohn oversaw academic advising for all student-athletes at Presbyterian College as athletics academic services coordinator from September 2010 to July 2011. She also served as the special advisor for Presbyterian’s successful transition to NCAA Division I.

A familiar face in the Clemson community, Angie has been a life-long participant in collegiate athletics. Since her early teens, she has worked as a statistician, spotter and stage manager for CBS, ESPN, FOX Sports and Raycom Sports. She also gained valuable experience in various legal, compliance, and sports information capacities in the Clemson University Athletics Department. During her time at Clemson, she worked closely with former AD Terry Don Phillips, who previously served as an assistant football coach at Tech from 1971-78 and holds both a master’s degree and a doctorate from Virginia Tech.

A 2006 graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in history, she served as an assistant officer manager for UVA’s Sports Medicine Department as a student.

Angie served as an athletic department legal intern at Washington and Lee University while pursuing her law degree. In conjunction with her athletic work, Littlejohn also worked in the private sector as an associate at Fields & McLaurin Law Firm in her native Seneca, S.C. in 2009.
