Leah Joseph was hired as director of volleyball operations in March of 2017. Joseph’s duties at Tech include assisting with day-to-day operations, scheduling, team travel and business office logistics. Additionally, Joseph is a liaison with equipment and nutrition, and assists with game management.

Joseph, a native of Cheltenham, Maryland, is a Georgia Southern graduate where she played volleyball and earned SoCon and Sun Belt Academic Honor Roll accolades. Joseph played in 27 matches in her career, logging career highs (108 kills, 94 blocks) in 2014, including leading the team in blocks.

During her time in Statesboro, Georgia, Joseph was the head coach of the Southern Slammers Volleyball Club, coaching 13-18 year-old girls. She also worked actively on the student advisory board at GSU.

Joseph earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology. She also was a keynote speaker for the athletic convocation, and was an invocation speaker for the annual academic athletic award ceremony her senior year.

In 2016, Joseph was a student assistant coach for the Eagles, assisting in day-to-day practices and organizing pre-game meals.

Joseph is the daughter of Rhonda and Bernard Joseph and has a brother, Terence. Her father, Bernard, played football at Virginia Tech. She graduated from St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes High School earning all-state honors in volleyball and broke the school’s record on the track in the 100-meter hurdles.
