Sammi Goldsmith is in her second year on the Virginia Tech women’s basketball staff, serving as a graduate assistant. Goldsmith is primarily responsible for overseeing student managers, helping maintain the recruitment database, assisting with administrative duties, and other day-to-day operational tasks related to the program.  

A 2016 Lynchburg College graduate, Goldsmith earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. She was a four-year starter on the Lynchburg College women’s basketball team, serving as a team captain her junior and senior seasons. Goldsmith led her team to their first ever conference regular season title, conference tournament title, and NCAA berth during her senior campaign. She holds Lynchburg program records for most assists in a game (14), single season (187), and career with (504). Goldsmith was also voted the 2016 HERO Sports best guard in D3 Women’s Basketball.

Prior to college, Goldsmith played four years of high school basketball for Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School in Kernersville, North Carolina. She helped the Villains win four state championships and was awarded the Kay-Yow MVP award for the 2012 State Championship Game.

Goldsmith plans to pursue a career in coaching women’s basketball at the collegiate level. She is currently working toward earning her Masters of Arts in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis on Instructional Technology.

Goldsmith currently resides in Blacksburg, Virginia.
