Jessica Curtis
Assistant Coach, HighTechs (Dance)
Spirit (Cheer, Dance, HokieBird - Mascot)

Responsibilities: Curtis serves as the HighTechs coach, assisting with technical training, choreography and management of the team while coach the squad on football and basketball game days. In addition, Curtis assists with dance and cheer clinics throughout the season.

Joined VT Staff: January 2014 (part-time)

At Virginia Tech: Coached the HighTechs to their highest finish in program history at NDA Nationals, placing third in the Division 1A Team Performance in 2014.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Curtis worked as a dance instructor and choreographer to several studio and high school dance teams as well as a barre fitness instructor. Her work as a choreographer has earned her several awards at the local, regional and state levels. She attended Western Kentucky and was a member of the WKU Dance Team (2006-10), competing in nationals 2006-09 and serving as team captain during her senior season. Curtis trained in jazz, ballet, pom, hip-hop, tap and kick for 20 years.

Education: Western Kentucky (B.A. Religious Studies and Sociology with a minor in Nonprofit Administration); Western Kentucky (pursuing M.A. in Social Responsibility and Sustainable Communities)

Personal: Curtis is from Franklin, Ky. and currently resides in Blacksburg. She enjoys biking, hiking and discovering new restaurants in the area during her free time.
