Responsibilities: Tom currently serves as the assistant to Josh Bost in the football coach’s video dept. In his role, he meets all the needs of the football staff, from video cutups of practices, making highlight videos and managing their computer network.

Joined VT Athletics Staff: 2000

At Virginia Tech: When he first came to Virginia Tech, Booth was an editor for HokieVision, which is all the video content on the video scoreboards at Lane Stadium and Cassell Coliseum. From 2005-13, he directed video scoreboard production on football game days. He also has assisted all other sports with any audiovisual needs, specifically Tech’s wrestling and softball programs. In May 2016, Booth was named the ACC Video Coordinator of the Year by the Collegiate Sports Video Association for his work the previous football season.

Prior to Virginia Tech: Booth worked at WSLS-TV in Roanoke, Va., as a news and sports videographer before coming to Tech. While there, he cut and edited packages of on-air content, while also occasionally filling in as a sports anchor.

Education: Virginia Tech, 1996 (B.A. Communication)

Personal: A native of Erwin, Tenn., Booth has enjoyed Tech sports since he was a kid and has been coming to football games since he was 6 years old. He and his wife, Derley, live in Christiansburg, Va. He has rarely watched a TV show he doesn’t like.
