Justin Robinson named first team All-State by VaSID

Virginia Tech point guard Justin Robinson has been named first team All-State in voting by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) on Friday.

Robinson, a junior from Manassas, Virginia, led the Hokies in scoring (14.0 ppg), assists (185) and steals (41) this past season. He was named second team All-ACC and All-District by the USBWA. He tied a school record with 12 assists in the win at Boston College and set a new school mark for assists in an ACC season, with 97. His 185 assists overall this past season is the second-highest in school history.

The Hokies earned a second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance this season and finished with a 21-12 overall record and 10-8 in ACC action.

The University of Virginia swept the top honors as Kyle Guy was named Player of the Year, head coach Tony Bennett was named Coach of the Year and freshman De’Andre Hunter was recognized as Rookie of the Year.

Named to the All-State First Team along with Robinson were Ahmad Caver (Old Dominion), Nathan Knight (William & Mary), Kyle Guy (Virginia) and Justin Tillman (VCU).

The All-State Second Team is composed of David Cohn (William & Mary), Otis Livingston II (George Mason), Jermaine Morrow (Hampton), Stuckey Mosley (James Madison), Ed Polite, Jr. (Radford) and Devon Hall and Isaiah Wilkins from UVA.
