The journey: ACC Tournament blog

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Virginia Tech men’s basketball team begins its stay in The Empire State for the New York Life ACC Tournament. Fans can stay up to date on this page, acting as a live blog on the action throughout the Hokies’ trip.

DAY 1: Monday, March 5

The Voice of the Hokies, Jon Laaser, and Co. flew out of Roanoke on Monday afternoon, kicking off the trip.

Getting off the plane, the Hokies took a bus to their hotel through rush-hour traffic in the Big Apple.

Following its travel, Tech hit the hardwood at the Barclays Center, home of the Brooklyn Nets, for a shootaround at night.

DAY 2: Tuesday, March 6

To start off the second day, Tech began Tuesday morning with a film session on its possible two opponents in 10th-seeded Notre Dame and 15th-seeded Pitt.

The Hokies started practice around 10:30 a.m. at Baruch College's home court. The Bearcats are a Division III school in the Cuny Athletic Conference.

A sneak peek of where Tech's radio crew will be calling the game tomorrow. Tech will face 10th-seeded Notre Dame, following its win over 15th-seeded Pitt by a score 67-64.

DAY 3: Wednesday, March 7

Tech's student-athlete academic support services associate director Alise Svihla went to Good Morning America this morning and run into alum Hoda Kotb.

The Hokies went through a walk through this afternoon in preparation for their game against Notre Dame. The managers taped up the floor to resemble a basketball court.

Tech begins its warmups and shows off a little bit with an impressive dunk.
