Tech enters Coaches Poll Monday afternoon

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech moved into the IWLCA Coaches Poll Monday, checking in at the 25th position following its 20-3 victory over Old Dominion Saturday afternoon.

After opening the season with losses to two top 10 programs, Southern California and James Madison, Tech got into the win column over the weekend, routing the Monarchs. Kelci O’Donnell led all goal scorers with four, while Tristan McGinley had three goals and four Hokies each added two scores.

Freshman Emma Crooks recorded her first game-winning goal, scoring the Hokies’ fourth of the game.

Meagh Graham earned the win making six saves, while freshman Morgan Berman saw her first collegiate action in goal coming up with one save.

Tech is also receiving votes in the Inside Lacrosse Poll this week.

The Hokies are back on the field on Wednesday, Feb. 21 when they take on the Campbell Camels. First draw is set for 1 p.m. from the Indoor Practice Facility.
