Hokies prepared for third Fall Play Day

BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech lacrosse team is set for its third day of competition during the fall season. The Hokies will travel to Annapolis, Maryland on Saturday, Oct. 14 to the campus of the Naval Academy where they will be joined by; Ohio State, Syracuse, St. Joe’s, Coastal Carolina, Drexel, San Diego State, Vanderbilt, Arizona State, and George Washington.

In previous weeks, the Hokies have welcomed Radford, Winthrop, Cincinnati, Liberty and Davidson to Blacksburg for scrimmages.

“It’s going to be a good test for us and give us another opportunity to really get our team prepared for the spring season,” said John Sung.

“With all the rule changes this season, seeing the game played at a higher level this weekend will be good for us. We’ve had some younger players step up which has been great, but these teams will provide an even bigger challenge so I am excited to see how we compete on Saturday.”

Tech’s schedule for Saturday:
11 a.m. - vs Drexel on Field 1
12 p.m. - vs Ohio State on Field 1
2 p.m. - vs Vanderbilt on Field 3
4 p.m. - vs George Washington on Field 3

Of note: Virginia Tech has 10 players on its roster from the state of Maryland. They are:
